Due to concerns over the coronavirus and CDC recommendations, the Exotic Wildlife Association has announced that its Congressional Fundraiser has been canceled.
In a written statement, the EWA explained…
As you all know, we are living in uncertain times. Just when we thought things were going to go back to normal, our state has taken a step backward.
Due to the fact that hotels and businesses are restricted to the number of people that they can accommodate and also to follow the recommendations of the CDC and Governor Abbott, reluctantly the Directors of the Exotic Wildlife Association have decided to cancel our Congressional Fundraiser August 7-8. We also do not want to jeopardize the well being of our members in any way.
Most of the associations across the country are canceling their events as well. Having said that, all associations depend on their conventions to raise the necessary funds to keep their membership services intact.
During these times, it becomes necessary to think outside the box. The Board of Directors decided to do a virtual auction on Saturday, August 22, beginning at 1:00 P.M.  We will have a great line up of animal lots as well as other auction items for our members to bid on throughout the afternoon.
DV Auctions will be handling the online bidding as usual and we will be sending a link in the next couple of weeks to the DV Auction website. If you do not have a DV Auction account, please contact them to obtain one.
We sincerely hope our membership understands and will support your association during these difficult times. To consign your animal lots, please contact Tommy Oates at 936-661-0653, Vick Jones at 830-279-5822, Charly Seale at 830-928-3158, or the EWA office at 830-315-7761.
